Saturday 10/8/1984: Scott McGregor blanks California with a 2-hitter
CALIFORNIA - Detroit's lefty Scott McGregor is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking California on just 2 hits. It's his 3rd shutout this season, and the 20th time he has done it in his career. McGregor (22-5) struck out 3 and walked none, throwing 73 of 115 pitches for strikes. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him.' Bobby Grich helped McGregor at the plate, he finished with 2 hits in 4 AB. Detroit scored 3 runs on 5 hits.
