Super early Dodger offseason block.....

I have got to clean up my ML and AAA roster next year.  While I'm not talking about star-quality players, I have a ton of guys that are good enough to start or or sit on the bench for a lot of teams in this league.  I simply do not have room for them all.

So here is a list of names I'd like to, or would potentially, move during the offseason:

Walt Moryn - OF - ML (just received a nice talent bump)
George Shuba - OF - ML
Bob Keegan - SP - ML
Bob Porterfield - SP - ML (not sold on moving him just yet, but he is a good pitcher that eats a TON of innings)
Hank Aguirre - SP - AAA (don't have a place for him currently)
Roger Craig - SP - AAA (don't have a place for him currently)
Jackie Brandt - 1B/OF - AAA
Gino Cimoli - OF - AAA (solid defender, could grow into a hitter)
Norm Larker - 1B - AAA (don't have a spot for him)
Carmen Mauro - OF - AAA
Ed Roebuck - MR - AAA
Joe Pignatano - C - AAA
John Roseboro - C - AAA
Ray Moore - SP - AAA
Dick Gray - 3B/OF - AA
Really, anybody in AA or A ball not named Gentile.

Guys I don't really want to move, but could move if I got a good enough offer:

Sandy Amoros - OF - AAA
Ray Shearer - OF - AAA


Willing to listen on just about anybody.  Don't have many "needs", other than stud pitching, maybe a solid backup MI, or a stud closer.  Always in need of reward points.  Could use a little cash, but that isn't the issue it was a few years ago.  Or younger players.  It's not often a team is willing to move a 4.0 prospect that is nearly developed for a 4.0 prospect that is several years away, but in some cases, I might do that.  I won't take a worse player though, that is younger.  If I'm getting younger, I want equal talent in return, or better.

Going to add Furillo to the list. Don't have to move him, but I probably have the bats to replace him.

And would REALLY like to move Keegan. Not going to have a spot for him next year. Given his age, I won't be asking a ton. Maybe a good spot for a cash deal, or to package him with some of the other guys I'm looking to move.

Also considering moving somebody from my pen. Dorish is probably the easiest to move. Maybe Flowers.

Eh. I think it'll work itself out and become a non-issue soon enough. If the game (OOTP) had that feature in it, I would say go ahead, but doing it manually, when it won't amount to much in the near future, I'd probably pass. JMO.

Screw that. I'm not winning titles, I need to get rid of some of this excess. I don't know when the expansion draft is, but my bigger concern is guys rotting away in AAA. I'd rather swap them out for A/AA talent. It's like everybody is scared to try to win, even though there has been some parity, especially in the NL.

lol, we will expand first in 1961 and again in 1962.

Prior 2 seasons' ammy draftees exempt, I am contemplating how many to allow each team to protect. Thinking 12 or 15.

I think it may be how you value your talent and how others value your talent that may be the problem. I'm not scared to win, but I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face. I'm 3 years in to this rebuild and finally starting to see guys getting close. Trading lower level spects for older guys in an effort to be .500 isn't smart. I took Keegan?! You're welcome!

I don't think it's a talent valuation problem.  I'm not even having too many discussions.  And the ones I've had, it really hasn't been a case of me asking too much, but more a case of me not wanting to move what I would consider pretty good prospects, for players I just don't need.  My ML team doesn't have many holes.  On paper, I think I've had the best team going into each of the soon to be 4 seasons.  So what I'm looking for is pretty specific.  That, and there just doesn't seem to be a lot of A and AA talent.  The talent the league started with is mostly mature.  Maybe a few more draft classes will change that some.  I dunno.  But I think I'm valuing my talent pretty fairly.

It's changing. I've just drafted 2 nice A ball guys. My organization was getting top heavy, lots at AAA or near AAA ready
