Well Baseball fans, the Braves are back in town and the season is upon us, with the latest off season in the books.
In a shock of all shocks, a guy that the tigers had their eye on was drafted by the Braves with the 3rd pick, a youngster out of Lansing MI, John Smoltz. Rumor has it, that one of Detroit's scouts was talkative in an airport bar one night with a local bartender and one of the Brave scouts had had his fight cancelled and heard about the youngster.
Next up the Braves landed the talented left hander Joe Magrane. All things point to him becoming a top pitcher one day, if only he spends time perfecting his craft.
Then the surprise trade of the off season happened, with the Giants sending the Count south to Atlanta, to give the Braves thee most lethal starting 4 in league history. The future is bright for these Braves, bright indeed.
Really surprised SFran would trade a home grown talent like the Count, but Brave fans are glad they did.
