Well baseball fans, we will start our look forward at how the post season will start to shake out. 124 down, and 38 to go.
StL leads the NLCentral by a comfortable margin, but really wasn't looking like they had a shot of doing much come October, however their GM has been busy the last few weeks trying to shake things up. Will be interesting if they start a run of momentum heading into the post season.
The NLWest seems all but over with LAD holding an 18 game lead, and all but something like the unparalleled meltdown by the Giants in 93, blowing an 10 game lead to the Braves, LAD should be the team from the west. With the recent addition of Eck, they are probably the odds on fav to get to the WS from the NL.
The NLEast is still up in the air, but the Braves are trying to solidify the division, and not let the upstart Mets take the division title. However the final standing ends up, both teams look to have positions wrapped up for the post season.
in the AL, Seattle now has a 25 game lead and looks like a lock for the ALWest.
The Central is up for grabs, 3 teams within 1 game of each other and the dynasty of Detroit a scant 6 games back lurking like a wounded tiger getting ready to strike. Currently the Twinkies have the lead, but KC and the Brew Crew, are just as capable to end up on top by seasons end. This will be the best fight to watch the next few weeks.
Just like the NLEast, the ALEast looks to be the one that will be sending a wild card into the next round. The Red Sox have been making some moves, but while they hold the WC advantage by 6 games, they also trail the Yanks by 6 games, and haven't been able to close that margin.
So baseball fans, what do you think is going to happen?
