Well this is where we talk about the Hot Shots of the league, and most of the ones we talked about before had to come, because it was a sequel.
The AL central seems to be doing this the old navy way. First one to die... loses! The Twinkies have a 2 game lead on the Royals, but the Brew Crew are sliding, and the Tigers have all but fallen out of the chase, while statistically still alive, realistically the fork has been stuck in them.
Seattle has wrapped up the East, there is no way anyone from the West besides them is going to the playoffs.
Over the last 14 games Boston has trimmed a game off of NYY lead, in the AL East, but with 24 to go, they need to do a better job of erasing the games behind to have a chance to supplant the Yankees as the East Division champs.
The hottest team in Baseball right now is the Dodgers, that have gone 13-1 over the last 15 days. Not only are they peaking at the right time, it has propelled them into the best record in Baseball for the first time all season. This has the NL West all but wrapped up, and this prognosticator sees them clinching the Division in the very near future.
St Louis still has the Central by the testies and they will be cinching sooner or later. The Jury is still out on their flurry of last minute trades, as it'll take a couple weeks for all to shake loose, before any quantified comments can be made.
In the NL East, the Braves have pulled a little ahead, but the remaining schedule looks to favor the Mets, and the way the Braves have been playing of late, that lead is likely to dwindle.
In the AL the Central is still too close to call, but Seattle, Boston and New York look as locks.
The NL, only who plays who and where seems to still be left up in the air, as LA, StL, NY and Atl seem to have no chance of not making it to the show.
And this has been my confession.
