Thursday 8/18/1986: Boston's Dave Parker slams three taters
DETROIT - Hitting homeruns is one of the most difficult things in sports. To hit three of them in one game is almost sensational. Boston's rightfielder Dave Parker accomplished that feat in a 15-6 win over Detroit. His 1st blast, a solo homerun off John Cerutti in the 6th inning, landed an estimated 379 feet from home plate. In the 6th inning he unloaded a GRAND SLAM off Bob Kipper. A 425 foot drive to center field marked his 3rd bomb, a solo homerun off Ron Guidry in the 9th inning. Overall he finished with 3 hits in 5 AB, scoring FIVE runs with 6 RBI. Dave Winfield was the last player to hit 3 homeruns in a game, doing it 8/11/1986. The final score of the game was 15-6.
Wednesday 8/17/1986: Pittsburgh has no chance in a 2-hitter by Billy Taylor

Taylor (5-3) fanned 4 and walked 3, throwing 98 pitches. Bill D. Doran provided Los Angeles (N) with the offense Taylor needed as he collected 3 hits in 4 trips to the plate, doubling once. Los Angeles (N) scored 5 runs on 8 hits.

Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Ruptured Bicep Tendon which will require surgery. Porter has hit for a .222 average this season.
