Pulled back and sent to minors to bypass waivers for a separate deal

Pulled back. You can't do that. He's got a big-league contract. You could only do that to minor leaguers who don't have a big-league contract.

Devils Advocate here..... I've seen Teams do this in the past where they send a guy down then can trade him. I believe either KC or the Cubs I'm not about to go through the 1000 trades to find it but it also doesn't state in the rules this isnt allowed.

Since the trade was pending, I did not have a chance to work out a deal with Darryl. If we post one by next sim, I hope it will be honored.

I believe either KC or the Cubs I'm not about to go through the 1000 trades to find it but it also doesn't state in the rules this isnt allowed. "While not a feature in OOTP5, the waiver-wire trade deadline is at the end of the regular season. During this time, players on the Active Roster must be sent through and clear waivers before they are able to be traded. Players with minor league contracts (MLC) may be traded without having to clear waivers. Trading is not permitted from the end of the regular season until AFTER the File Flip." Seems clear to me. I could have worded this differently to say that "players with a Big League Contract must clear waivers before they are able to be traded to any team or traded to the claiming team." Plus, Gossage was not on a minor league contract. I doubt many, if any, teams were able to trade this way. I was pretty good with that. Just don't ask me about FPR of Sammy Sosa...

Ok but there were still trades in the past where a guy was sent to the minors then allowed to be dealt. Maybe they slipped thru but I'm 97% sure they happened

Maybe they slipped thru but I'm 97% sure they happened In GABL, we allowed a waiver-free trade if the player would accept demotion. However, I am not sure if we allowed it during an active waiver.

I'm not overly concerned. Maybe word it a bit better cause I did look to see and couldn't find a specific rule against. No worries.
