CHICAGO (N) - Chicago (N)'s right-hander Mark Gubicza experienced probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher, a season ending injury. After pitching in the 2nd inning of the game against Los Angeles (N), Gubicza complained about serious pain in his throwing arm. He had to leave the game. Chicago (N) wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Gubicza had suffered a Torn Bicep Muscle. This season Gubicza compiled an ERA of 3.64, going 9-9 in 33 starts. He fanned 127 while giving up 214 hits in 210.1 innings.

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee's right-hander Juan Eichelberger suffered a severe injury on Saturday and will be out for at least 5-6 weeks. In the 8th of the game against Boston he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Milwaukee wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Eichelberger had suffered a Torn Bicep Muscle. This season Eichelberger compiled an ERA of 2.74, going 19-8 in 36 starts. He fanned 153 while giving up 162 hits in 269.1 innings. Juan has pitched 3 shutouts and 7 complete games. He's 7th in the American League in ERA and 5th in wins!
