So HOFFBL pundits, here we are at last... and for so long on the all star break of 1988.
One of the surprises thus far has been the AL East with 3 teams battling it out while 2 of them prior to seasons begin, hardly anyone would have thought would be contending.
The other is the NL West with up till recently had non of the teams really competing and both LA and SF playing way.... way... way below preseason expectations.
A shift is most certainly going on from the norms of 5 years ago, Seattle has supplanted the Angels for dominance in the AL West, KC seems to own the AL Central, the small market team of Pitt is looking to continue owning the NL Central, and Atl seams to have competition for only the 2nd time during that stretch.
Another change that seams to be different from 5 years ago, is more teams are above .500 with 14, up from the 9 in 83
