Here we are, the ALCS and it is an all East series, as the Blue Jays in only their second ever postseason take on the storied team, with non stop postseason success, the Yankees.
SP
TBJ Russell is without a doubt the ace of the staff, but behind him there are no other studs on the staff.
NYY Similar to the Jays, however they have 2 studs to give them the slight advantage
ADV NYY
MR
TBJ This is where the Jays roster really shines, as they probably have the best bullpen in baseball. If a team cannot close it out before the bullpens are involved, odds are the Jays are going home the winner.
NYY while a solid bullpen, not as good as the Jays
ADV TBJ
C
TBJ Two solid catchers with similar abilities behind the plate and with a bat, either one gives a solid guy behind the plate.
NYY Similar staff to the Jays, though not quite as good behind the plate.
PUSH
1B
TBJ Brunansky was a free agent acquisitions that can go deep anytime he is at bat. a soldi defender with a soft glove.
NYY Mattingly is donniebaseball for a reason. Amazing range, a really soft glove make him one of the best defensive first baseman. With a bat, one of the premiere hitters and can go yard whenever.
ADV NYY
2B
TBJ Gant is a talented defender that can go yad easily and knows how to draw free bases
NYY Whitaker is one of those guys you wish was yours.Impossible to keep off the basepath, and once there near impossible to stop from stealing.
ADV NYY
3B
TBJ Clark is a premier hitter bot for avg and power, plus he has great range with a decent glove.
NYY Deer can go deep with ease, and will draw more than his fair share of free bases. As a pitcher, you hope that when the ball leaves the bat, it isn't hit at deer as his range at third is dubious at best.
ADV TBJ
SS
TBJ Davis was initially a shoe in to play the outfield, but has become a great SS with good range. His power is unusual for a SS, plus if you blink while he is on 1st, it's an auto double.
NYY Randolph is one of the Yanks elder statesmen, but he still gets hits in bounches and will be on the basepath more often than any opposing pitcher wants
PUSH
LF
TBJ Bradly is OK as a defender in LF, though he does have a soft glove. A good arm to keep runners honest on all but deep fly balls. With the bat he's decent though he has an amazing eye for working the count to a freebee
NYY Kruk is also just an OK defender and solid with a bat, and gets a lot of free passes at the plate
PUSH
CF
TBJ Winters can go yard at any time, wont commit many errors, but he also wont run down the balls in the gap before they drop for a hit.
NYY HoJo has speed, range, and an ability to drive pitchers mad with hits and walks.
ADV NYY
RF
TBJ Skube like all the Jays outfielders has trouble reaching balls in the gaps. Another Jay that will cause pitchers fits as he knows how to also draw walks.
NYY O'Neill lacks range, but has a great arm, and with a bat, he's solid.
PUSH
While the Yanks won the division, their slight advantage in this matchup is no guarantee to advance. Could the Jays finally bring their manager to the WS after he left Atlanta looking for the free health care of Canada?
