Welcome to 1990!
File and pages are processing now. Exports, Messages, unnecessary files deleted. Financial Settings, Broadcasting and Cash on Hand fixed. I just need to check for Minor League Team Names and Team Logos. I will post a schedule, file flip points and ammy draft order shortly, but in the meantime, plan on EARLY NEXT WEEK being the EARLIEST we will start FA/Ammy.
As per usual, please note that the amateur players have NOT been touched yet in this file. Brian will start to work on the ammy players shortly.
Winter meetings can begin! Now is the time to rethink strategy, make trades and propose rule changes. Feel free to export FA offers; they will not get lost as we make updates in the file because I do not import FA offers until the actual sim --- importing offers and then posting a file allows other teams to see who has a favorite offer and it would be possible to top an offer by simulating (you do not need commish powers to sim FA).
Trading is OPEN again. Reminder on trading picks; rule change:
Basically, at any given time, you will be able to trade the CURRENT and NEXT SEASON'S picks.
- When the file flips, the current draft has not started yet, so you will be able to trade 2 seasons worth of picks. - When the draft ends, the current draft has just ended, so you can only trade next season's picks. - At the end of the season prior to file flip, it's the same as above --- the current draft ended a while ago, so again, you can only trade next season's picks.

I would've never guessed that running FA sims doesn't require the commish pw lol

Yea, it's odd. Can easily be used to see if your offer tops the existing favorite offer. You can make an offer, run a sim and see if the offer sticks. If not, you can delete the file, download, unzip and make another offer and run another sim. You could keep doing that until you see what offer is good enough to be the favorite offer, and then export. AKA cheating!

I just checked the GABL forums, sad how that league just died...but I’m not sure what you guys are talking about....thought that league just died cause the commish quit and no one wanted to pay for HTML hosting.

That was part of it but K was a horrible commish before Andrew and drove people away which was the other part to it.

K was a horrible commish...he also admitted to cheating to sign big fas if he wanted them by putting his offers last before he ran fa sims

And he had the file password and wouldn't give it to Andrew(?) to continue. I asked about it once the end was coming so I could continue it on my own, Andrew said he'd asked but K refused to tell him. (I'm not even sure you'd need a password or how to do that on my own, but was interested and never tried after that)

it wasn't that K refused, it was he wasn't around to even see the message. I know K from elsewhere that has nothing to do with OOTP, but ya all wanna slander him without knowing everything, that's fine. His personal life is just that so not going to go into further details.
that's not how the game works, it does FA by team number. It's why the NL west tends to do the best at FA signings. Also, largest amount always wins other than 20 million offers, that is where the bug is, and the last offer will win via team number. Which is when he lost interest in being the commish, before things pulled him away from everything internet.
Only seen that to be not the case once, and it happened with a NL west team winning with just shy of a 20 mil contract but for 7 years. Still haven't been able to replicate that, as in all the testing I did for Chris, the 20 mil bug always won, and it was always in order of team number, no matter how bids were put in.

One of the many things he did to bring an end to the GABL. To fair that league badly needed a restart

depending on the content, it wouldn't surprise me. Just like some stuff here has been deleted by Chris. At least I assumed it was by Chris.
as long as people want to disparage former commishes in other leagues, what ever happened to the guy that ran BBSBL3 until he handed it off to break and stool, the restarted another league about a year ago and then ghosted the league 1.5 seasons in? erbes?

You mean the guy who was kicked out of GABL (maybe, or just quit?) and came back under a fake name and ran a team? Not sure it's a good argument to bring that name up. I'd put them in almost the same category.

I like when people who weren't involved or there know better than the ones who were when it happened.

I was there and experienced Ks bias firsthand. I quit the league twice over his handling, the second time for good. I've never quit another league in my almost 10 years of playing this.
