One month in, and 1990 is starting to shape up to be a good year for the league.
The baseball world is a chattering, as Mad Dog to the hill and missed a perfect game, by 1 walk. It was an epic masterpiece, and quite ironically involved the team that has now taken part in the last 3 no hitters in the league, Houston. Last season there was two, one by Atlanta against Houston, and one by Houston.
Greg had kidded before the game "well John and John had shutouts this week, what do I need to do to stop having to listen to how great they are"
In completely shocking news, all world Dan Peatry is headed to LA to bask in the light of the Stars, it will be interesting to see if his magic will be the same in Dodger stadium as it was in Pittsburg.
St louis has been pouring it on, and now is a game back of the Central leading Pirates, and this seasons Central looks to again be spicy as the two teams joust to see who will come home with the Central pennant.
Toronto is finally starting to live up to their managers prognostications and now is on pace to win 106, though Cleveland is just one back. The rest of the East is looking like they want to challenge Boston for the #1 pick, though currently the NL west is looking more likely to strike gold for the #1.
More and more though, it is looking like the White Sox will be a fixture for the AL for years to come when it comes to who will play in October.
Only one division in baseball has all teams over 500, and like last year it is the NL East. It is this prognosticators opinion, that the NL East is the most talented division top to bottom, and Montreal has really rebounded from their 4-11 start and has been 11-3 since against teams not in the East.
Currently the best reliever in Baseball is Cali's Frohwirth, that if he could sustain his save ratio would completely shatter Doug Corbetts record of 56 saves in a season. Time will tell if he and Power of SFG have the stuff to continue their pace to challenge the single season save record.
kinda like everyone knows who Ronnie Van Zant is as Skynard's original singer, not a lot of people knew his brother Donnie was in 38 Special as one of their guitarist / singers
The #87 rock song of 90.... off of a great album... Everyone knows SRV, but not everyone realized his brother was the guitarist for the Fabulous Thunderbirds
