The Chicago White Sox just keep on rollin from town to town just smashing through on a 17 game win streak starting with the Yankees way back in April, with wins against the best teams in the AL, tossing aside the west leading Angels like a rag doll, and now trying to steam their way through the AL leading Blue Jays.
Pittsburg finally ended their horrible skid and with a host of players showing up to play against the Dodgers on May 11th, it was joked that their skipper was in the dugout with a clipboard asking "Who are you and what position do you play" trying to fill out his batting order for the umpires pregame. With the new lineup, they went 6-1 and reclaimed the lead in the Central from the Cards.
In the East, the Mets just keep on winning and have cut the Braves lead to 3, and are on a current 6 game win streak, and winning 12 of their last 16. 3B Steave Balboni is just wearing out opposing pitchers, and already has 11 HRs. Montreal, continues to recover from their horrible 4-11 start and is now 19-8 since, and they have their own guy smashing HRs, as Hudler is tied for the lead with 11 also.
Out in the West, LA continues to be an enigma, so much talent, but they just do not seem to have a cohesive bond on a nightly basis. San Fran on the other hand, seems to have Al Davis haunting them with, "Just win baby" mentality flowing through the organization.
The AL west still has the Angels holding onto first, as the Rangers look to reclaim the magic that had them a 100 game winner last year, though currently they are tied for third with Oakland. The West has joined the NL East as the most competitive Division, as all 8 teams are above 500.
Toronto, still has their foot on the throat of the AL East, and looks to be odds on favorite to repeat and Division champs.
Bob Walk from the White Sox and John Smoltz from the Braves are the only 8 game winners so far.
With all the HR power in the NL East, it's Matt Winters from Toronto currently showing off his sweet swing with 13 dingers
So the #76 rock song of 90, is coincidentally where I am "dragging " Cali too tonight, and after I read her comment I thought of the NL Vacation movie where the dogs leash was tore up... Anyways if she wants to claim shes being dragged out, I guess that's just the way it is....
