A couple weeks into the 2nd half of the season, and we already have our storyline. It's either titled, "Holy cow look at StL go", or "Pittsburgh, going down faster than the Titanic". In the NL Central, what looked to be a walk away lock for Pittsburgh has turned into 81 wins might be enough to win the division, and it looks like StL will have that and more.
Over in the West LAD seems to have righted their ship and after going 7-3 over their last 10 now is tied for 2nd place it the race for the WC. SFG continues to have a cushy lead though and LAD is 12 back from them.
Atl has gone 10-4 since the Break which is one better than Toronto and the Mets so they are alone with the best record in baseball and picked up a game, and now lead the Mets by 11. The Mets have a commanding lead for the WC though as LAD and Montreal are both 10 back, and both need a huge run to even have a chance to catch up. The NL East continues to be the best division in baseball, top to bottom, with all teams over 500.
Toronto continues to hold the East ransom, with the best record in the AL and running away from Cleveland with a 17 game lead, which has the 5th best record in the AL. All World M Winters suffered a season ending injury after appearing on the cover of MLB Monthly with and article written by beat writer J. Madden saying he was a strong MVP candidate, which has come to be seen by some players as a curse, and this latest example has several players talking about possible conspiracies. Rumor has it that J. Madden isn't allowed anywhere near some stadiums including Fulton County.
The White Sox keep leading the Central, however that are not dominating all of baseball as they once did. While they will be the Centrals division winner, it's not looking like they will just waltz to the WS as it seemed they would just a few weeks ago. Detroit after a slow start is still hanging in there and well within striking distance of getting to the postseason via the WC.
Seattle has rebounded again and looks like they are trying to trackdown Cali and take the West again. The were close a few weeks back and then fell off, only to really start looking crisp the last few weeks and now is just 5 games back of the division lead. Clai, while on a 3 game skid, still keeps playing pretty dang good for a team the GM said, "next year we are aiming to compete" coming out of spring training
Rob Deer of the Yankees wasted no time taking the HR lead back from Winters, who is still 2nd in all of BB with HRs
Kinda ironic, I started putting videos in because of a little banter I had with Dale about Dave Mason, and now all that song does is remind me of my brother being gone, even though the song is about nothing that should. Just so happens posted it in the music discussion thread of the bbsble3 forum a short time before I got the call. Had been listening to it a lot, just cause it had been a long time since I had listened to it a lot.
anyway, the #44 rock song of 90 was
