Well the Braves were on a roll for most of August, (20-4) until the Giants brought them down to earth taking the last 3 in their 4 game series leaving them 20-7 on the month.
Heading into September the boys in Atlanta have the best record in baseball and need 2 more wins to reach 100 for the 6th straight year.
Smoltz and Maddux are on fire with a combined 43-3 record, both with sub 2 era's.
Brohard is once again a bash brother, but no longer with Reonike, but with "youngster" Bob Horner, who finally is looking like the guy that crushed homers for St Louis a few seasons back. Horner and Brouhard are tops in homers and RBIs in the NL.
Julio Cruz, just keeps adding to his all time record in stolen bases and is leading the NL in steals, while the actual youngster in the field Stan Javier is 3rd. The two of them have also been in the top 3 hitters for avg all season long.
Doug Corbett again is leading everyone in saves and recently got his 40-42 saves to put him over 40 for the 9th year in his career.
The Braves magic number for their 12 NL East pennant in the last 14 years, is 9 games with 30 to go.
the #23 rock song from 90... one of my all time favorite bands that I've seen 9+ times, including an amazing tuneup for one of their national tours in a small bar in Ft Myers Florida... Loved them from the first time I heard this song and raced out to buy the CD... If it had been vinyl that poor album would have been laid tattered by none stop listening.
