SAN DIEGO - San Diego's right-hander Scott Kamieniecki experienced probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher, a season ending injury. After pitching in the 2nd inning of the game against New York (N), Kamieniecki complained about serious pain in his throwing arm. He had to leave the game. Kamieniecki was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Torn Bicep Muscle. His ERA of 5.09 helped him to a 5-13 record this year. He struck out 118 and walked 78 in 168 innings.
Thursday 9/22/1990: Chicago (N)'s Perez severely injured
CHICAGO (N) - Chicago (N) is without its right-hander Melido Perez for at least 6 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Greg Olson in a game against Montreal. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. Perez was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays.
