The .500 or better streak dating back to 1972 was within reach heading into the final week and a half of the season. A bad stretch derailed the late season charge leaving the Brewers at 80-82, so close but still not enough. The 1990 season was a year of transition with new faces like Mark Parent and Tino Martinez emerging to take the reigns of the franchise from stalwarts Robin Yount and Joe Charboneau. It was also the year where Yount turned back time by earning his first All Star Game nod since 1984, a top ten AL finish in several key batting statistics and his 4th (3rd consecutive) Gold Glove.
The potential is there with this group and a few key additions in the off season, along with continued growth will have them right back in the AL Central pennant race.
