ATLANTA - Atlanta's right-hander Don Robinson is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Los Angeles (N) on just 2 hits. It's his 4th shutout this season, and the 30th time he has done it in his career. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today.' Robinson (8-4) struck out 1 and walked none, throwing 55 of 84 pitches for strikes. Atlanta's leftfielder Stan Javier stroked 4 hits in 5 AB, scoring three times. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Robinson. Atlanta improved its record to 55-33, scoring 8 runs on 15 hits.
Monday 7/11/1992: Player of the Week honors go to Pratt and Jose
Oakland's catcher Todd Pratt had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the American League Player of the Week. In 18 at bats he hit .444 with 4 HR and 13 RBI. Todd managed to drive in at least one run in every game he played this week. Felix Jose from St. Louis wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the National League. Felix was on fire, hitting .500 with 2 HR and 6 RBI.
Saturday 7/9/1992: Teddy Higuera out for 8-9 weeks
TEXAS - Texas' pitcher Teddy Higuera was part of a scary incident that saw the lefty being hit by a line drive in the 2nd inning of the game between Texas and Cleveland. Team trainers immediately rushed onto the field after the frightening scene. Higuera will miss about 8-9 weeks. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Broken Cheekbone which will require surgery. Opposing players hit .163 against Teddy this season. While posting an ERA of 1.74 he went 8-3 in 16 starts, fanning 73 and walking 25 hitters. Teddy has pitched one shutout and 3 complete games.

He suffered a serious injury in a game against Milwaukee where he left the field in the 5th inning. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Pulled Rotator Cuff Muscle.
