those weren't test seasons, those were in another league... when I said I had a team, that wouldn't be a test... and yes I probably do still have the files available. This is one of those rare bugs that only rears its ugly head when a team is crushing the win total, and the 2nd place team is a WC contender. Just because you aren't aware of bugs that exist in the game doesn't mean they dont exist.
There are bugs for sure in the game, I've seen them. I'd love to see the file with background. Did the WC team make the playoffs the year before? If not, what was there record? Did they lead WC wire to wire?
If you aren't doing promotional days to up your FI - you're doing it wrong.
Just because you say theres a bug in FI, doesn't mean it exists either.

I had the second best record in the league and lost FI 2 years straight. this should not happen, one of the years I won the WS, and followed up with losing FI. Sorry you have never seen it, but both Chris and I are aware of it.

I lead the WC wire to wire last season. Won the first round matchup and lost in game seven of NLCS dropped fan interest and even took a loyalty hit.
The loyalty hit is most disappointing and would NEVER happen in real life. Not to mention after 3 years of mediocrity.
We will make the playoff two years in a row.
Even after overtaking ST Louis my rating continued to fall. Pretty sure I swept San Fran in the month of September as well (don’t have the game in front of me)

Lost in Game seven to make World Series last season, fan Loyalty drops. This year make a push to make the wild card, fan interest plummets. No respect for 2nd place 😢 I get it, but it still sucks. we have a rule i thought where the wildcard teams get there fan interest fixed cause the game punishes you still even though you are playoff bound

But some people don't want to believe the bug is real cause they have never noticed it. It only is huge when you are the WC / 2nd place team with a team that crushes wins in route to the division title

Matt - of course you need to do promotions to boost fan interest, but that's just generally throughout the season, but it spazzes out at the very end of the season if you are not the division winner, which does not make sense to the wild card team winner in particular. And to that point, anyone who was in the running either. Do you tune out if you're battling another team for that last spot? Hell, I'd say the division winners' fans tune out.
To that point, I think we all know it's broken, so you must not have been a part of the league yet when we initially had this conversation a couple years ago. Mark is right --- we used to do it, but we never really defined the parameters and truthfully, have not consistently done it. I'm just acknowledging to jmich that we need to fix it going to forward and I will put it in the rules this time around.
So -- how do we fix it? I somewhat offered a solution in a prior post. Elaborating on it further, what if we:
* Take a snapshot of fan interest on 9/1 * Take a snapshot of the standings on 9/23 ... whoever is still in the running for the wild card spot will be eligible to have their fan interest fixed. * End of regular season on 10/1 ... Adjust team's fan interest so that it is set to whatever the fan interest was on 9/1 or 9/23, whichever is higher.
Thoughts?
