Once again, the bulk of the analysis will focus on the 1st-3rd round picks. Let's see how each AL team did!
Baltimore Orioles:
1st Round Pick: P Juan Marichal
2nd Round Pick: P Dick Lines
3rd Round Pick: P Jay Hook
4th Round Pick: C Don Pavletich
5th Round Pick: 3B Mike de la Hoz
6th Round Pick: C Russ Gibson
7th Round Pick: C Frank Zupo
8th Round Pick: CF Hector Martinez
Juan Marichal will brings his high leg kick to Baltimore, where he hopes to their future ace.
With the worst record of any team last season, DRowe and the Orioles were able to land the one and only Juan Marichal in the 1st round after the Cardinals' Bob Gibson reservation. Marichal has great ratings, A duration and excellent character ratings across the board. At 19, he has time to develop into a future ace that he should become. Can't go wrong with Marichal 2nd overall.
In the 2nd round, DRowe selected reliever Dick Lines. Lines has good ratings, but with all 1's, will take a lot of time to develop. With B relief duration, he could eventually get converted into a starter. It will be interesting to see if DRowe decides to make it happen.
Jay Hook was the Orioles' 3rd round pick. Hook's ratings aren't the greatest, but with a talent increase, he could become a decent back end starter. He may not be necessarily needed later on due to all the pitching depth the Orioles have, but he could still be good depth to have. There were some better players available in the 3rd round though, but DRowe decided to have his pick auto'd and that's what he got.
4th round pick Don Pavletich could become a decent backup catcher in the future, or even starting material with a hits increase. 5th round pick Mike de la Hoz looks like a backup infielder at best. Russ Gibson, Frank Zupo and Hector Martinez should all be released immediately.
It was a very good draft overall for DRowe, but he could've done a bit better in the 3rd round.

Boston Red Sox:
1st Round Pick: P Bill Stafford
2nd Round Pick: P Jerry Walker
3rd Round Pick: LF Manny Mota
4th Round Pick: 1B Bob Farley
5th Round Pick: P Hal Kolstad
6th Round Pick: SS Bobby Henrich
7th Round Pick: 1B Gary Rushing
8th Round Pick: P Steve Dalkowski
Break began his draft by taking Bill Stafford 1st overall. Stafford has nice ratings across the board and was solid for a mid 1st round pick. Break should try to increase his duration for the next few spring trainings, but besides that, Stafford is a good middle rotation pitcher to have.
Break then selected reliever Jerry Walker in the 2nd round. Walker looks major league ready by now, yet Break has chosen to leave him in the minors. Walker should turn into a decent reliever for the Red Sox.
Manny Mota was Break's 3rd round selection. Mota should turn into a good hitter and a walks increase could make him an on-base machine. He can already play all over the outfield as well.
4th round pick Bob Farley is probably a bench player going forward. 5th round pick Hal Kolstad could be decent bullpen depth. Bobby Henrich, Gary Rushing and Steve Dalkowski should all get cut.
Break had a solid draft overall. Nothing terrible, but nothing spectacular either.

Red Sox 1957 Draft Grade: B+
Chicago White Sox:
1st Round Pick: P Bob L. Miller
2nd Round Pick: CF Matty Alou
3rd Round Pick: P Ralph Lumenti
3rd Round Pick: P Tom Butters
4th Round Pick: P Ken MacKenzie
5th Round Pick: P Bill Spanswick
6th Round Pick: C Gordon Massa
7th Round Pick: P Don Prince
Mark took Bob Miller in the 1st Round. Miller could become a future closer with a walks increase, but with some spring training work put into his duration, he could turn into a good starter down the road. Not bad for a late 1st round pick.
Matty Alou was Mark's 2nd round pick. Alou should turn into a good hitter and can already play first base and all over the outfield. A stealing ability increase to B could make him a lethal base stealer. The one knock on Alou is his strong winning desire and minimal loyalty combo. But if the White Sox play well when Alou comes up, this may not be as concerning.
Mark then had two 3rd round picks. One of them was Ralph Lumenti. I'm not big on Lumenti at all. He has poor walks, E starting duration and the worst possible consistency and clutch combo. That all is not particularly enticing. Tom Butters though was a slightly better selection. He is loyal and is fair in walks, which is better than poor. Like Miller, Butters is another pitcher that could turn into a decent starter with some spring training duration work done.
4th round pick Ken MacKenzie could turn into a decent reliever with some PD help and a talent increase. 5th round pick Bill Spanswick looks like extra bullpen depth at best. Gordon Massa and Don Prince are minor league lifers.
Mark's draft started off decently, but Alou's strong winning desire and minimal loyalty and Lumenti's weaknesses crippled his draft potential.
White Sox 1957 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
White Sox 1957 Draft Grade: C+
Cleveland Indians:
1st Round Pick: P Ramon Arano
2nd Round Pick: RF Tony Gonzalez
3rd Round Pick: 1B Fred Whitfield
4th Round Pick: LF Manny Jimenez
5th Round Pick: LF Tony Curry
6th Round Pick: SS Bobby Wine
7th Round Pick: SS Buddy Pritchard
8th Round Pick: RF Ed Olivares
Being that Ashes was still on military leave during the draft, all of his picks were auto'd. The Indians' 1st round pick, Ramon Arano was a very solid selection with good ratings across the board and A duration. Arano looks like he could be major league ready in a few seasons and should be a solid middle rotation starter for the Indians unless he gets some nice PD's.
Tony Gonzalez went to the Indians in the 2nd round. Gonzalez could be a good hitter in the future and could be even more valuable if Ashes puts some points into his running speed and stealing ability. He should also provide very good defense in the outfield.
Fred Whitfield, the Indians' 3rd round pick looks decent overall, but clearly needs a hits increase to be of any significant importance to the Indians' future. The same could be said for both the Indians' 4th round pick Manny Jimenez and 5th round pick Tony Curry as well, although both could become defensive liabilities.
Bobby Wine, Buddy Pritchard and Ed Olivares will all never see the major leagues in their careers.
Ashes may have not been there to see it, but he had a good draft overall.
Indians 1957 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
Indians 1957 Draft Grade: B+
Detroit Tigers:
1st Round Pick: P Steve D. Barber
2nd Round Pick: P Chuck Estrada
3rd Round Pick: 1B Walt Bond
4th Round Pick: 3B Jim Woods
5th Round Pick: P Frank Mankovitch
6th Round Pick: RF Dick A. Smith
7th Round Pick: P Cal Browning
8th Round Pick: P Sammy Rolin
Steve Barber was one of the better late 1st round picks in this draft.
Trevor's draft began with selecting Steve Barber 12th overall. Barber is a very good pitcher for someone that was passed over by 11 other teams. A walks increase is definitely needed to take him to the next level and he could be a big part of the Tigers' long term future. A couple spring trainings later, Barber could have A duration as well. His ground ball percentage is awesome as well.
Chuck Estrada, who was taken in 2nd round, could be a decent pitcher, but the fair in walks hurts his value. An increase to average walks would be nice though. If he doesn't end up pitching well as a starter, he could turn into a future bullpen piece for the Tigers.
3rd round pick Walt Bond is already quite versatile, but has mostly average talents everywhere and doesn't really offer much in speed as well. A hits increase would be essential for Bond.
4th round pick Jim Woods looks to be a future backup, while 5th round pick Frank Mankovitch will need a nice PD to be a decent reliever. Dick A. Smith, Cal Browning and Sammy Rolin will all be minor leaguers for life.
Trevor got a steal in the 1st Round and a pretty good draft altogether.

Tigers 1957 Draft Grade: B
Kansas City A's:
1st Round Pick: P Chris Short
2nd Round Pick: 2B Dick McAuliffe
3rd Round Pick: P Ed Rakow
4th Round Pick: CF Jay Hankins
5th Round Pick: C Dave Ricketts
6th Round Pick: RF John Demerit
7th Round Pick: 1B Bert Barth
8th Round Pick: P John Cregan
The A's did not do well last season, but ended up doing slightly better than a few other teams. As a result, the A's had the 8th overall pick in the 1st round and Noah used it on Chris Short. Short could turn into a very good pitchers with good talents almost everywhere and B duration. He's also loyal, which is always a plus.
Noah then selected Dick McAuliffe in the 2nd round. McAuliffe will need a hits increase to really become part of the A's future, especially because he doesn't offer a particularly large amount of power or speed.
Ed Rakow, who Noah took in the 3rd round is another A's player that could use a hits increase to be more valuable. A few spring trainings could raise his duration as well, but if Noah chooses to eventually use Rakow in the bullpen, he could a very reliable reliever.
4th round pick Jay Hankins is probably one of, if not the worst of all the 4th round picks and really doesn't offer much. 5th round pick Dave Ricketts could be an eventual backup catcher to John Romano. John Demerit, Bert Barth and John Cregan should have all been sent packing by now.
Noah's draft looks very promising at first glance, but if he ends up spending points on some of these guys, then this could turn into an awesome draft for him.

New York Yankees:
1st Round Pick: P Bobby Bolin
2nd Round Pick: P Von McDaniel
3rd Round Pick: 2B Arnoldo Castro
4th Round Pick: P Jim Duckworth
5th Round Pick: C Mike T. Brumley
6th Round Pick: 3B Wayne Graham
7th Round Pick: 2B Bud Bloomfield
Bobby Bolin could become another steal in this draft class.
Chris selected Bobby Bolin with the 14th overall pick. Bolin has already gotten nice PD to his walks, to put him at good across the board. Some spring training duration work could make Bolin that much better. The loyalty is always a plus as well.
2nd round pick Von McDaniel is already in the major leagues as part of Chris' bullpen. He was clearly major league ready to begin with and has done well in limited appearances.
3rd round pick Arnoldo Castro will need a hits increase to get anywhere here. The fact that his speed, steals and defensive ranges are all pretty good, he could become a solid player if he gets that hits increase.
4th round pick Jim Duckworth could become extra bullpen depth if he doesn't walk that many hitters. Mike Brumley, Wayne Graham and Bud Bloomfield will be clogging up the bench for a while.
Chris made some nice picks for where he was in the draft.

Washington Senators:
1st Round Pick: P Joe Hoerner
3rd Round Pick: 3B Steve Boros
4th Round Pick: P Jack Hamilton
5th Round Pick: P Cecil Butler
6th Round Pick: P Merlin Nippert
7th Round Pick: P Dave Skaugstad
8th Round Pick: P Jim J. Jones
Adam chose reliever Joe Hoerner with his 1st round pick at 10th overall. Hoerner could become a future closer for the Senators or could eventually get converted into a starter if Adam decides to go that route. There were some good starting pitchers available, but Hoerner is still good reliever to have.
Adam traded his 2nd round pick to the Cubs and Matt A. selected pitcher Lee Stange with the pick. In the 3rd round, Adam selected Steve Boros. The third baseman could become useful with a hits increase, but does not offer much in power, speed or defense. If the hits increase happens, Boros could become a serviceable hitter.
4th round pick Jack Hamilton is not bad for a 4th round pick, but he clearly needs to improve his walks rating and duration to become more useful in the future. 5th round pick Cecil Butler could be ok, but will definitely need a nice PD to really get somewhere. Merlin Nippert and Dave Skaugstad will play left and right bench, respectively in the minors throughout their careers, while Jim "Dipset" Jones is much better off becoming a famous rapper than of a baseball player.
Adam's draft was decent but not particularly awesome, to say the least. A hits increase to Boros though could make it look a bit better.
