And now we move onto the NL teams. Let's see how they did!
Brooklyn Dodgers:
1st Round Pick: P Aubrey Gatewood
2nd Round Pick: C John Orsino
3rd Round Pick: SS Zoilo Versalles
4th Round Pick: C Merritt Ranew
5th Round Pick: C Hawk Taylor
6th Round Pick: 1B Stanley Hashimoto
7th Round Pick: 2B Rod Miller
Jeremy started his draft for the Dodgers by selecting Aubrey Gatewood with the final pick of the 1st round. Gatewood will need some duration work in spring training and a talent increase to his walks to become a potentially good starter in the future. But still, a very solid pick for a late 1st rounder.
In the 2nd round, Jeremy selected John Orsino. Orsino could possibly be the Dodgers' catcher of the future. But he will definitely need a hits increase for that to happen. His 1B defense isn't bad either, so he could be an option there as well.
Jeremy's 3rd round pick was Zoilo Versalles. Versalles could be useful with a hits increase and could turn into a solid utility infielder, if not a starter down the road. An increase to his stealing ability would make him even more valuable.
4th round pick Merritt Ranew could be a future backup catcher. Hawk Taylor, Stanley Hashimoto and Rod Miller have all been released already.
Jeremy's draft was solid for his position and he addressed a few of the Dodgers' big needs while doing so.
Dodgers 1957 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
Dodgers 1957 Draft Grade: A-
Chicago Cubs:
1st Round Pick: P Milt Pappas
2nd Round Pick: P Gene Bacque
2nd Round Pick: P Lee Stange
3rd Round Pick: 3B George Banks
3rd Round Pick: RF George Thomas
4th Round Pick: RF Leo Burke
5th Round Pick: 2B Julio Gotay
6th Round Pick: LF Howie Bedell
7th Round Pick: C Charlie Lindstrom
8th Round Pick: LF Stan Johnson
Matt A. selected Milt Pappas 4th overall in the 1st round. Pappas is good nearly across the board and could be major league ready by 1959 at the latest. Pappas also has very good character ratings and B duration. He was definitely the best pitcher left on the board at his pick.
Matt then had two 2nd round picks. From his own 2nd, he took Gene Bacque. Bacque will need a walks increase at some point, but he's at good ratings everywhere else except strikeouts, plus has B duration. Matt then got Lee Stange with the Senators' 2nd round pick. Stange is more likely to be a reliever in the future unless Matt puts some work into his duration. With good ratings almost everywhere, Stange could turn into a dependable reliever for the Cubs in the future.
Matt also had multiple 3rd round picks. He used his own 3rd on George Banks. Banks is only fair in hits, but could get up to average with a hits increase. He should be able to hit for power and draw a bunch of walks though. However, he won't offer much in speed and defense. Matt then took George Thomas with the Phillies' 3rd round pick. Thomas is average across the board, but doesn't have much speed or defense to offer, so he will probably be a utility backup at best.
4th round pick Leo Burke could be decent with a hits increase, but will probably turn into another utility backup. 5th round pick Julio Gotay will need some PD help to get anywhere. 6th round pick Howie Bedell probably won't see the majors ever. Charlie Lindstrom and Stan Johnson have already been released.
Matt had an excellent draft overall and it should definitely help speed up the rebuild he still refuses to admit he's on.

Cubs 1957 Draft Grade: A
Cincinnati Reds:
1st Round Pick: P Jim O'Toole
2nd Round Pick: P Jack Fisher
3rd Round Pick: 1B Donn Clendenon
4th Round Pick: C Dick Bertell
5th Round Pick: P Craig Anderson
6th Round Pick: C Elmo Plaskett
7th Round Pick: C Cal Ripken Sr.
8th Round Pick P Stover McIlwain
Jim O'Toole was just one of the many promising pitchers from this draft.
Jeff began his draft by taking Jim O'Toole with the 6th overall pick. O'Toole has good ratings just about across the board, plus B duration and is loyal. Those are all very nice ratings to have.
Jeff then used his 2nd round pick on Jack Fisher. Fisher will probably need a hits increase in the future but he's a solid pitcher overall and could be a good middle rotation starter.
3rd round pick Donn Clendenon could be a decent hitter with a hits increase and a stealing ability increase. He should probably learn more positions though because he won't find any time at first base for a long time.
4th round pick Dick Bertell could be a future backup catcher. 5th round pick Craig Anderson could be a decent reliever in the future. 6th round pick Elmo Plaskett might turn into a useful backup later on. Cal Ripken Sr. and Stover McIlwain both should get released ASAP.
Jeff's draft was pretty good generally speaking. His 1st-3rd round picks could all turn into useful pieces in the future.
Reds 1957 1st Round Pick Grade: A
Reds 1957 Draft Grade: A
Milwaukee Braves:
1st Round Pick: P Andres Ayon
2nd Round Pick: P Howie Reed
3rd Round Pick: P Manny Montejo
4th Round Pick: P Bob Moorhead
5th Round Pick: C Doug Camilli
6th Round Pick: P Ed Keegan
7th Round Pick: 2B Jack Damaska
Steve's draft began with taking Andres Ayon 15th overall. Ayon is only 16 and will need years of development. But his ratings are great, he has B duration and is loyal, so that's all really nice for a late 1st.
2nd round pick Howie Reed could be another solid pitcher in the Braves' future, but will need a walks increase at some point. Steve could make him into more of a starter with some duration work in future spring trainings. At the very least, he could be a good bullpen piece.
3rd round pick Manny Montejo will need to get either a talent increase in home runs or in walks. He could turn into decent bullpen depth in the future and isn't too bad for a late 3rd round pick. 4th round pick Bob Moorhead will need a talent increase in hits or walks to develop better, but is also loyal, unlike Montejo. That's a nice late 4th round auto pick there.
Doug Camilli, Ed Keegan and Jack Damaska are all not worth even keeping around in the future.
Steve's draft was quite decent for having such late picks each round. With some talent increases to the top guys, they could all turn into very useful players.
Braves 1957 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
Braves 1957 Draft Grade: A-
New York Giants:
1st Round Pick: P Jim Kaat
2nd Round Pick: P Gordie Richardson
4th Round Pick: 3B Charley Smith
5th Round Pick: SS Phil Linz
6th Round Pick: 3B Lou Klimchock
7th Round Pick: C Bob Lipski
8th Round Pick: LF Jerry Mallett
Spencer's draft for the Giants didn't begin too favorably because of the fact that he failed to trade for the Orioles' 1st round pick to get real life Giant Juan Marichal. However, Spencer can still try to trade for Marichal in the future. Jim Kaat though is a nice consolation prize. Despite having a strong winning desire, Kaat was good across the board in talent ratings (and recently got a nice PD to his walks to get to brilliant) and is a durable pitcher with A duration. This of course means that he will be expected to stay healthy and eat innings. Kaat could turn into a future #2-3 starter for the Giants at the very least.
In the 2nd round, Spencer went with Gordie Richardson. Richardson could turn into a solid starter or reliever, depending on how Spencer ends up using him. Richardson also won't need any talent increases, which is a plus.
Spencer traded his 3rd round pick to the White Sox. 4th round pick Charley Smith could be a decent role player with a hits increase, but he probably won't turn into a starter on Spencer's beefed up lineup. 5th round pick Phil Linz looks like a major league backup at best.
Lou Klimchock, Bob Lipski and Jerry Mallett should have all been released by now.
Spencer's draft was good overall, despite trading his 3rd round pick. Kaat will be a great pitcher and hopefully, the strong winning desire won't end up biting the Giants later on.

Giants 1957 Draft Grade: B+
Philadelphia Phillies:
1st Round Pick: P Joe Gibbon
2nd Round Pick: P Tom Parsons
4th Round Pick: RF Carl Warwick
5th Round Pick: 2B Chuck Hiller
6th Round Pick: LF Sandy Valdespino
7th Round Pick: P Dave Hill
8th Round Pick: P Len Prout
Oren selected Joe Gibbon in the 1st round. Gibbon was a nice pick for 11th overall. He has great ratings and is loyal. The only thing that needs to be improved is duration, which Oren can do for a few spring trainings. Gibbon recently suffered negative PD's to his home runs and duration, but Oren has already decided to reverse them.
In the 2nd round, Oren went with Tom Parsons. Parsons could become a future bullpen piece for the Phillies unless Oren gets his starting duration to go up for a few seasons. Parsons' ratings weren't the greatest to start with, but Oren has decided to increase Parsons' home runs to good, which will make him that much better. Solid 2nd round pick there.
Oren traded his 3rd round to the Cubs. 4th round pick Carl Warwick could be a decent outfielder with a hits increase. Warwick though does not offer much in power, speed or defense, so the ability to get hits and get on base will be important for someone like him. 5th round pick Chuck Hiller could be a utility backup in the future and a hits increase for him wouldn't hurt either.
6th round pick Sandy Valdespino will need PD help to ever reach the majors. Dave Hill and Len Prout have both been released already.
Oren's draft was pretty good and he's been spending points on Gibbon and Parsons, which makes his draft look even better now.
Phillies 1957 1st Round Pick Grade: A-
Phillies 1957 Draft Grade: A-
Pittsburgh Pirates:
Round 1 pick: P Claude Osteen
Round 2 pick: RF Johnny Callison
Round 3 pick: P Bob Heffner
Round 4 pick: 2B Jake Wood
Round 5 pick: P Dan Pfister
Round 6 pick: LF Lou Jackson
Round 7 pick: C Owen Johnson
Round 8 pick: P Bill Graham
Claude Osteen could turn into yet another young promising pitcher for the Pirates.
With my 1st round pick, I took Claude Osteen 3rd overall to add to my ever growing arsenal of young promising pitchers. Osteen won't be major league ready for at least a few seasons so I will him develop for as long as he wants. His ratings are awesome, and he also has A duration, a 68% ground ball percentage and very nice character ratings.
In the 2nd round, I took Johnny Callison, who was the first hitter off the board. Callison has since gotten a nice PD that included his hits to good and his strikeouts to brilliant. Despite all that, I don't even know where he will fit into my future plans, but I might end up increasing his walks to good at some point. He could be a very promising outfielder in the future. And if I can't find a place for him here down the road, I'll send him to another team that could use him better or just keep him here as depth if I don't get good enough offers.
In the 3rd round, I felt a need to focus on future bullpen depth, and that's why I went with Bob Heffner. Heffner needs a hits increase at some point, and although I improved his starting duration in spring training, it was all for nothing when it recently went back down to E. It's ok though because he's young enough that I can work on increasing it more in the seasons to come, rather than spending points on a reversal now. I like Heffner's ratings and feel he could be a good middle reliever at the very least.
Jake Wood was probably one of the worst 4th round auto picks, but his running and steals combo at B/B is nice enough that he could be useful if he gets a great PD at some point. For now, he looks like a future backup. 5th round pick Dan Pfister is only fair in walks, but could be decent relief depth if he gets a nice PD. I'm on the fence about cutting him, but I'll wait a while for now.
Speaking of cuts, Lou Jackson, Owen Johnson and Bill Graham were all cut immediately after I saw how bad they are. I had no use at all in keeping them and it's a shame that their careers will all go to complete waste.
I really like my draft overall and feel that Osteen and Callison in particular could definitely add to what could be a very bright long term future for the Pirates.

Bob Gibson was arguably the greatest pitcher in Cardinals' history and a no-brainer FPR for Matt C.
For Matt C., this draft was all about Gibby. Matt used his first FPR on Bob Gibson, who is both the greatest pitcher in Cardinals history and probably the best player in this draft class. Gibson's ratings are awesome. He's good in hits, doubles and walks, and brilliant in home runs and strikeouts. He also has A duration, 8 velocity, a 62% ground ball percentage, and is both loyal and durable. What more could you really want from him? Matt was anxious for Gibson and now has him probably for his entire career.
As a result of reserving Gibson, Matt's 2nd and 3rd round picks were forfeited. But I can only imagine that Matt didn't mind it because Gibson is worth a lot more than those picks to him.
4th round pick Dick Eagan could turn into a decent future bullpen piece for the Cardinals, but could probably use a talent increase in hits or walks. Larry Burright, Julio Linares and Jackie Moore will be lifelong benchwarmers in Single A most likely.
Being that Matt made a great choice in reserving Gibson and sacrificed his 2nd and 3rd round picks in the process, he will be graded a bit differently than everyone else this time. Due to the circumstances, Matt had a very good draft.
