HOUSTON - San Francisco's right-hander Bryan Harvey made some history today, firing a no-hitter against Houston. Their hitters found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, never having a chance against his overpowering stuff. Dave Magadan spoiled the bid for a perfect game when he walked with 1 away in the 7th inning. 'I hit the corners with all of my pitches. That helped a lot!' Harvey (19-7) was overpowering, fanning 12 while walking 1, throwing 111 pitches. Robby Thompson helped Harvey at the plate, he finished 1 for 4. San Francisco improved its record to 108-43, scoring 1 run on 3 hits.
Tuesday 9/20/1993: Jeromy Burnitz found the stroke, smashes three homers
CHICAGO (N) - Chicago (N)'s centerfielder Jeromy Burnitz showed the world why he is one of the most amazing sluggers in a 16-12 win over Philadelphia. He almost knockes the cover off the ball, resulting in three homeruns. His 1st blast, a two-run homerun off Mike Norris in the 1st inning, landed an estimated 415 feet from home plate. His 2nd shot, off Mike Norris in the 2nd inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in right field. A 450 foot drive to left-center marked his 3rd bomb, a two-run homerun off John Franco in the 7th inning. Jeromy went 5 for 5, scoring three times and collecting 8 RBI. His homerun total this year is 30, along with 92 RBI. Rex Hudler was the last player to hit 3 homeruns in a game, doing it 9/20/1993. The final score of the game was 16-12.

NEW YORK (A) - On Tuesday, New York (A)'s rightfielder Leon Durham displayed his sensational ability to handle the bat against Texas, punishing their pitchers with six hits. His 2nd cleared the based, a three-run double off Tyler Green in the 3rd inning. A pitch from Tyler Green in the 6th inning left his bat for a double. Monday 9/19/1993: St. Louis' Walters wins Player of the Week award
Mark Grace wins his 3rd Player of the Week award. American League pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. In 31 at bats he hit .548 with 4 HR and 12 RBI. This year Grace drove in 92 and scored 88 runs while batting .293 with 25 homeruns. The Player of the Week award in the National League goes to St. Louis' Mike Walters this time, as the pitcher displayed the best pitching perfomance in his league. Mike went 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00, while fanning 10 in 18 innings of work. He pitched two shutouts!
Sunday 9/18/1993: Colorado has no chance in a 1-hitter by Jeff Calhoun
ATLANTA - Atlanta's lefty Jeff Calhoun is a great pitcher. And he once again showed his stuff, blanking Colorado on just one hit. It's his 5th shutout this season, and the 13th time he has done it in his career. Calhoun (10-8) struck out 4 and walked 1, throwing 68 of 108 pitches for strikes. 'Winning is the most important thing. And I gave my team all the support it needed!' The hitting star for Atlanta was shortstop Greg Briley, he collected 4 hits in 5 trips to the plate, homering once, scoring two runs and collecting 5 RBI. Atlanta scored 13 runs on 15 hits.
