I'll start this here since it doesn't look like anyone has yet. From what I see things look very good, here's a few suggestions:
Andruw Jones should be an A in CF. That shouldn't even be a discussion Tori Hunter is better than C in CF, B or A? Fernando Tatis.................AVG in HR's? Maybe double check that. I would think GOOD would be appropriate. Edgar Renteria.........I think his speed should probably be more like B. Also maybe double check his D? I thought he was pretty good defensive SS Armando Rios.............doubles too low? defense too low? Boy talk about a guy who never lived up to the hype. Always waiting for his breakout
Thanks for doing this, if this level of accuracy is what we can expect going forward, that's exciting.

And as Break mentioned, I am working on a spreadsheet that we're hoping would automate the ratings once you copy the data from baseball-reference (via a neat feature that exports data via Excel). There are a couple things still to tinker and it's mainly dealing with short careers (less than 7 seasons) and fielding ranges. Once it is at an acceptable point, there will be a tab that collects all of the ratings that could be copied to a master spreadsheet that would have all players with all necessary ratings, for each season.
The goal is to be able to build a spreadsheet of ALL of the data for future drafts (do 20+ players a week and you have a full draft) ahead of time so it's all done prior to the flip. We can also go backwards in case anyone (including break for his future league) to create draft classes of prior seasons for other leagues.
I'm willing to share the spreadsheet if anyone wants to see how it works.

Without looking at stats, ARod and/or Ortiz seem more powerful than GBG. Maybe the walks should be higher?

Wasn't Luis Castillo a better hitter at the peak of his career? Or am I thinking of a different Marlins guy?

A/A should only be for guys who consistently got 60+. Juan Pierre etc

Doesn’t matter how fast you are, if you run a TON you’re bound to run in more suboptimal situations (Pudge behind the plate, lefty pickup artist on the mound, etc) while the guys with decent speed who just run a lot are still picking their spots. |
