The season started on a promising note, and the Brave sored out to a 6-2 start, and then Maddux went down, seemingly demoralizing the Braves, as they dropped the next 4 games by a combined 5 runs. Maddux wasn't there to stop the bleed. If that wasn't enough, then and the best pure hitter, lead off man Stan Javier went down for 8+ weeks, and with the two of them out the Braves went on an uninspired 5-6 run ending the month a game under 500 for the worst April in Braves history since Pre 1977. While the Braves still have one of the best rotations in the league, gone is the god of the 9th inning Doug Corbett. He alone probably would have made April a winning month even with the injuries. With the atrocious start some are wondering if the Braves coaching staff is still in touch with the game. Are the Braves in trouble? Will they be able to sustain losing Cruz, then Murphy, and Horner over the next 4 years? These are the questions that dog the clubhouse reporters. Stay with us on the monthly Bleacher report to keep up to date with the Braves. As a special insight for those that read these, if you aren't almost selling out you are leaving money on the table. I hope those that are old enough had the opportunity to see these guys live in the mid to late 90's. I had the pleasure of seeing them in the late 90's when a hurricane was off the coast of Florida at an outdoor venue, was... an amazing night. The # 73 rock song of 1994
