It was actually more than a week, but what a week, with the Braves going 7-1 and heading into the dog days of summer, looking like the Braves of the 80s. The cagey veteran of the starting pitching, Robinson notched two wins, including his 3rd complete game shutout this season during the stretch. Not to be completely outdone, Smoltz and Maddux both picked up a couple wins too. The top three guys of the pitching staff each are having good seasons so far, and each is trying to bring the Cy Young award back to Atlanta. Maddux is playing like a player possessed this season after having the best winning % of any pitcher with over 25 wins last season and the lowest ERA, but was snubbed by the voters, with the award going to S Shield of the Dodgers. In surprising news, fan favorite Mark Brouhard is on his way back to Atlanta and will be starting at 3rd once again as Maddux faces Shields tonight. Mark's pop and glove should be a welcome addition to the team, as 3B has been a question mark all season. Mark isn't the Bash Brother he once was, but he still can put the ball out of the park if a pitcher gets careless. The #69 rock song of 1994
