Sunday 4/17/1995: Scott Lusader punishes Milwaukee with three dingers
MILWAUKEE - Hitting homeruns is one of the most difficult things in sports. To hit three of them in one game is almost sensational. Baltimore's centerfielder Scott Lusader accomplished that feat in a 20-3 win over Milwaukee. A 435 foot drive to right-center marked his 1st bomb, a three-run homerun off Woody Williams in the 1st inning. In the 5th inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Wally Whitehurst. His 3rd shot, off Troy Percival in the 8th inning, was a two-run homerun and cleared the fence in left-center. Overall he got 4 hits in 4 AB, with 7 RBI. So far this season he is batting .319 with 5 homers and 18 RBI. Mike Piazza was the last player to hit 3 homeruns in a game, doing it 9/10/1994. Baltimore improved its record to 9-4, scoring 20 runs on 17 hits.

Monday 4/11/1995: Belle and Gullickson win Player of the Week award
Albert Belle from Minnesota wins his 1st Player of the Week award for putting up the best numbers this week in the American League. He hit .500 with 10 RBI and slugged 1.167 in 18 at bats. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! Cincinnati's pitcher Bill Gullickson had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the National League Player of the Week. Bill went 2-0 with an ERA of 0.50, while fanning 13 in 18 innings of work. He hurled a shutout as well.
Friday 4/8/1995: Mike R. Jackson dominates Los Angeles (N), gives up just one hit

Nomo (1-0) struck out 5 and walked 3, throwing 75 of 125 pitches for strikes. 'Well, the ball went where I wanted it. I was able to hit the corners with all of my pitches.' Los Angeles (N)'s third baseman Koji Akiyama got 2 hits in 3 AB, homering once, and collecting 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Nomo. Los Angeles (N) improved its record to 2-0, scoring 4 runs on 7 hits.
Sunday 4/3/1995: Mitch Webster has 2000th career hits
MONTREAL - Montreal's players had every reason to congratulate Mitch Webster, who reached a milestone today, collecting his 2000th career hit!
