After what was brought to light in Seattle, as well as countless seasons of bitching about tanking, I was thinking about this this morning, what if we required every major leaguer to have at
least a 4 in hits/AR? I thought about making it 5, but I have had a few pitchers through the years with a 4 that had BR/BR in HR/BB who were usable. I think it would at least slow down the
obvious tanking and it could also make off season free agency more interesting. Thoughts?

This is actually already in place in spirit. Chris and I will modify the rosters if we see it being violated / not playing best players (specs are allowed to stay in the minors). the question is, what is the punishment?

If it were and actual RULE then we can discuss punishment, because at that point people would be blatantly breaking the RULES. Right now I don't think anyone thinks they're breaking the rules and the argument is always that someone else previous got away with it. |
