I think my mind understand that loopholes of the game and how other would try to abuse them. That being said I've never done what I suggested above, fully knowing that it would more then likely cause more loses and in turn be a way to "intentionally" tank that would be incredibly hard to track. the only time you should be using strict order is the playoffs really it makes sense to always start highest rested I used to think this but not anymore

Ya I think strict order is the way to go. Especially with games started restrictions.
