MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee's right-hander Chan Ho Park will never forget this day. The 26-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 1-hitter, against Chicago (N) on Wednesday. Park (9-0) was overpowering, fanning 12 while walking 2, throwing 109 pitches. 'They took some ugly cuts at my breaking stuff, so I kept throwing it. MONTREAL - When it rains, it pours. Montreal's lefty Brian Fuentes will not pitch for at least 5-6 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Colorado where he left the field in the 7th inning. Montreal wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Fuentes had suffered a Pulled Bicep Muscle. Opposing players hit .246 against Brian this season. While posting an ERA of 5.40 he went 5-7 in 0 starts, fanning 48 and walking 30 hitters.

NEW YORK (A) - Tampa Bay's second baseman Neifi Perez once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up New York (A)'s pitching staff with a 4 hit performance on Tuesday. A pitch from Bill Pulsipher in the 2nd inning left his bat for a two-run double. TORONTO - Toronto's first baseman Cecil Fielder will miss the rest of the season. He injured himself running the bases in the game between Toronto and Baltimore. The injury didn't seem to be serious the moment it happened. But suddenly Fielder collapsed in pain and had to be carried off the field. After being taken to a local hospital, Fielder was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Torn Abdominal Muscle. Fielder has hit 16 bombs this year while batting .309. PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh's catcher Mike Sweeney suffered a serious injury when he was struck by a pitch from Houston's Mark Portugal. He collapsed in pain and was helped off the field. Sweeney will probaby miss 8 weeks. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Fractured Hand. Surgery will be performed next week. He has hit 10 longballs while batting .244 this season. His 60 hits and 31 walks add up to a .347 on-base percentage.

CALIFORNIA - When it rains, it pours. California's right-hander David Riske will not pitch for at least 5 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Baltimore where he left the field in the 10th inning. California wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Riske had suffered a Strained Elbow Ligament. His ERA of 3.16 helped him to a 2-3 record this year. He struck out 16 and walked 14 in 37 innings.
