CHICAGO (N) - Chicago (N)'s right-hander Dustin Hermanson will not pitch again this year, suffering a serious injury in the game against Houston on Saturday. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Torn Tricep Muscle. His ERA of 4.88 helped him to a 5-11 record this year. He struck out 81 and walked 65 in 132.2 innings.

BOSTON - Great days are rare. But not for Chicago (A)'s right-hander Curt Schilling. Boston found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just 2 hits. It's his 3rd shutout this season, and the 18th time he has done it in his career. 'Things like that happen. You take the mound and everything works. My velocity was pretty good today and I guess it showed.' Schilling (14-3) was overpowering, fanning 12 while walking none, throwing 110 pitches. The hitting star for Chicago (A) was rightfielder Bernie F. Williams, he finished with 5 hits in 6 AB, homering once, hitting a double, scoring three runs with 3 RBI. Chicago (A) scored 14 runs on 19 hits.
