Well Braves Fans, we are two months into the season, and your Braves are in first in the East, but have the red hot Marlins refusing to give any ground and matching them week in and week out with wins. Right now it looks like the Wild card is a shoe in to come from the East as both teams are making moves to get even better than they are.

The Braves started the month of may on a 12 game win streak (carried over from April) before they ran into the Giants and the Dodgers and had a rough week going 3-3.

Following that week, the Comish returned from micky mousing around, to take the helm of the league again, and the Braves seemed to really respond to their GM being able to concentrate on the team vs dealing with some league issues as they are 14-1 in the last two weeks with the only loss being a heartbreaker in extra innings to the Phillies, where an error allowed the run that allowed the game to be tied and sent into extra innings. The game was a rare outing for Abbott where he gave up more than 3 runs in a game.

During the 14-1 streak the Brave pitchers have posted 4 complete game shutouts, and Smoltzie was named pitcher of the month going 4-0 with a 0.68 ERA and striking out 43 in 5 starts.

The bats also have finally started coming to life as the Braves were batting .250 as a team not long ago, and now they have got the avg up to .261, and for the first time ever they are in the top 10 for homers for a team.
