HOFFBL Week in Review: the Leaders
Over in the AL, the East is a snooze fest with Toronto dominating with no pitchers after 2 starters went down with season ending injuries, but the lead is narrowing with Tampa coming on strong and finally above 500 on the season. The question is if Tampa finishes 82-80 might it be enough to win the East with Toronto having so many devastating injuries?
The Central of course is the interesting Division in the AL with 4 of the teams having a winning % above .620, the Wild Card will come from the Central. Currently Chicago and Detroit are tied for the lead in the Division, odds are one of them wont go to the playoffs as OOTP5 is a cruel mistress.
California will win again, maybe one day Seattle will decide to compete.
Over in the NL East Atlanta and Florida look to be locks to make the playoffs and both went 5-2 for the week, and Florida is just waiting for Atlanta to have a cold spell in order to pounce.
Pittsburg looks like they will once again take the Central after coming up short against the Brew Crew last season. Not sure what has happened to Milwaukee, but they have completely fallen off from last season. Guess losing the WS took all the wind out of their sail.
The West had looked like it might come down to the wire, however all of a sudden, San Fran has started trading away all their Major Leaguers, so it looks like LA will return to the post season without a challenge.
