I think if it's obvious he threw it or you can show an MLB the show pitching chart for them that shows the pitch it should be added

I'd consider missing pitches a fix not an upgrade

I'd consider missing pitches a fix not an upgrade that's what the gripes thread is about, that's how I got Smoltz fixed Kind of unrealistic to gripe every pitcher with 2 pitches. Unless you have a vested interested, like reserving him or taking him one overall. Also wouldn't expect every Matt or whoever is building out prospects to get everyone correct.

I was always told you had to show proof they threw the pitch so for instance with Franklyn German I wanted to a 3rd pitch I looked it up for proof to show Chris

FYI - those polls were asking different questions.
I am OK with adding a THIRD pitch because, if I recall, two-pitch pitchers seem to get hurt more often, especially if one of the pitchers is a slider? Also, there are not many pitchers in RL who only have 2 pitchers, most have 4 or 5.
That being said, I'd be OK with allowing a third pitch be added at no cost, preferably if there was proof. I am not going to allow for 4th and 5th and 6th pitches to be added. And I am not really into the idea of "fixing" the pitch types, although I could be convinced (in the new league for example) to correct knuckleballers and screwballers only. Though I am curious how pitch types affects stats. Sounds like another set of tests for Brian to do =)

I've never seen anyone offer up 2 pitch pitchers get hurt more we have the draft gripe thread for fixing things. no one posted "proof" in the rewards camp, as I recall it was a pita to get pitches added to Smoltz in gripes and had to cite multiple sources. Additionally, way back when Stienie and I drafted around 2 pitch pitchers, giving away the upgrade in private without telling others is wrong, and why should people now be rewarded when in the past others just suffered? I mean it's always been an upgrade league, make it an upgrade if not caught, just like everything else that isn't caught in time in the draft gripe thread...

I'd always send my proof directly to Chris in chat only done it like twice

Pretty sure I've read on the big board that pitch type is only for play by play in ootp5. It has no bearing on the actual game. Some people say "purely cosmetic"
When I say big board I mean the ootp boards.

I was always told you had to show proof they threw the pitch so for instance with Franklyn German I wanted to a 3rd pitch I looked it up for proof to show Chris If there is already precedent and Chris confirmed its good via text with Spencer. We should probably let Chris make the decision here. Something to think about for the restart?

more pitches = more wins and lower era v interesting always thought it didn’t matter stienie got me to test it before he put up his poll to see if it was even worthwhile considering. my memory is beer infused but I think in the case of a BBB pitcher it was 3-6 wins per test season and on avg 0.40 lower ERA a 2 pitch vs 4 pitch 3 vs two was always more wins and lower ERA but not as drastic think we found 4 pitchers to test on and that was the only change on the test season
