Sounds like there's a lot of support for this idea and I don't hate it. I think we should still have to pay for it though. Doesn't make a ton of sense to me that everyone gets it for free.

Because everyone gets it for free. Yeah, but why give it for free? Make it a reward for being active and having points. Make it a special reward rather than just, oh hey here's a free stud. IDK. I like that everyone gets the option of it. Lots of really good GMs here wont be getting a ton of points. Why should they miss out on the fun? Like I said before, lots of good players will still be available. |

Yeah I get that. I just don't know that I like every team being entitled to what is essentially a free #1 pick every decade. I feel like it carries more weight if it's deciding between saving points for PD reversals etc, or saving for Greg Maddux.

It's one player a decade. Some decades there won't be much. I have no clue what Cardinal I'd pick in the 70s or 80s. Whoever it might be won't be a stud like I'll get with Gibson. Each team had at least one major player a decade, no? |

One thing that would have to be hashed out is who has the rights to players that played on multiple teams in real life, or was drafted by a team then traded. Like Ozzie Smith. Drafted by SD, but obviously STL is the team he is associated with. As much as I'd love Ozzie, I say for Chris's sanity we have to leave it to drafted players that signed with the team. Everything else has to be luck of the draw..or draft, or whatever. So this might not end up helping my chances in drafting Piazza? |
