Another alternative is to require that such players must have been drafted AND played their ENTIRE career with said team. That actually would not allow me to pick ARod or O'Neill, but my list wouldn't change. That would also force Bonds and Griffey to not be eligible. Thoughts? I would have Johnny Bench in the 60's, Ron oester in the 70's and Barry Larkin in the 80's. |

I think that might be too extreme, the other way. Almost nobody would fit that description come the 90's or so, I wouldn't think. I'd be okay with something that limited it to a players that played a certain number of games/seasons, or acquired a certain level of WAR with the drafting. |

It's just way too over complicated an idea and not all gms are for it...... there is nothing wrong with just letting the sim do what it does and people get who they get.... if and when I take over the jays... am I going to cry if I don't get Stieb, Alomar, Carter, Delgado, or Bautista? No ...its a sim... I'll get and use who I am able to and that's the way she goes.

If people are really worried that once a decade will be too many good players off the shelf, change it to one player every 15 years. Teams are free to take any player they want, but they cannot do it again for at least 15 seasons. That would REALLY add some strategy to it, and would knock the number of players taken down some. P.S. - I still want Koufax.  |
