Anyway, just curious if there will be any interest in a restart league in 2025. Based on my math it's more like early 2026 to catch up to modern day. Probably should table "who's gonna be who till" then and focus on what it will be when we get there. Maybe do like spence and have everyone submit blind bids for the teams they want (top 3) and see what can be done. Like this idea. Think everyone is just jumping to "claim" a team. When we dont even know whos going to be in the league. I didnt jump to claim one because I just figured we were looking for general interest. Now I feel like I will be lucky to get one given everyone coming in with teams immediately.

some things I have pondered
blockbuster trades no matter when should qualify for the frenzy A SP with two main Brills (hits HR walks) or a hitter with Brill hits or HRs or a 1st
all markets and stadium seats start the same. this is a sim league, absolutly no reason to give teams unfair advantages out the door. Stadium construction is allowed but maybe revisit costs
keep the rewards the same as now
we have the same GMs now forever allow 2 to 3 years worth of picks to be traded.
maybe not allow money to be traded, but no more maxing money earned in a year to 25 mil. let a team build it's war chest and then they have their 50 mil to survive their run.

I was there, this is better The trade market here certainly isn't if I remember you could trade multiple years worth of picks there, which made it easier to move a big name.

I'm fine with loosening standards for what counts as a frenzy trade, so more count. But also good with "blockbuster" trades to count, at any time of the season. I'm definitely in favor of financials being the same, and would make stadium construction much more expensive (potentially double the cost) Good with the rewards, but be aware to keep control of inflation, brilliant awards will be more costly. Generally will raise thresholds for ratings, particularly for modern era ratings / relievers. I'm on the fence of trading 3 years worth of picks. I'm not in favor of releasing profit caps. This has encouraged longer-term and proper rebuilds. If I trade away all my cash but then get 50M profit because I got rid of everyone, and get the 50M back already in one season, does that seem right? I dunno. My mind can be changed.

To make more frenzy trades count. I always thought make it based off OPS or ERA.(somehow, not necessarily my suggestion)
Trading for a guy with a OPS over .750 or a ERA under 3.50 are impacting teams and therefore should count. …
I also think there could be a better system for FAN Loyalty.
For instance. If you make the playoff 5? years in a row you get a boost. If you win a World Series you get a boost.
It can encourage winning and help maintain a roster with better fan attendance. Lose 100 games go down one level.

The trade market here certainly isn't if I remember you could trade multiple years worth of picks there, which made it easier to move a big name. As long as its not unlimited years into the future. Seen too many gms completely decimate teams futures and talent pool then just move on.

so Chis sorta agrees with me there should be 24 teams no matter when we start. My latest suggestion was 1950 everyone gets to reserve 10 players on their team and the 8 other teams get to draft till they get 25 players, but no team can be reduced below 25.
the question if we did say 1950, what would be the additional 8 teams?
NYM ATL TOR KCR FLA SEA
are the tops of the top of my head that seems to have fans here in the GM pool

Don’t see why we don’t just redraft in full. Creates parity to start. Keeping top 5 will just give teams an advantage and if we are restarting why don’t we all just start at the same level. My only knock on this is the time it will take

They seem to be a cuttable team... …For posterity’s sake I like the idea of directly chronological by oldest team, but it means the ‘77 teams miss the cut and they have a lot of fans. Just swap out the Expos for Jays maybe?

I’d be open to taking the Mariners to continue the tradition from here with we decide to expand to the extra 8 teams.
Imagine I’d be hard pressed to get the jays although I’d love them.
Wish we would have signed Ohtani though….

one of the things Chris and I have discussed is making the sims 10 days each (one 11 day sim for months with 31 days) so a month takes 3 sims
