top 7 seasons he avg 7.26 hits per 9 which is a .212 BA against. for the 5 seasons I have to pay reservation fee on his BAA was .210 which as you say is in the bril range. With a 'good' rating there is no way in heck he would ever be able to get close to the stats here as he did irl. giving him a good just penalizes him for having a long career, and not using roids. Baseball Reference shows advance stats for all players which includes pitchers batting average against. Maddux lifetime is .250. 92, 94 and 95 were the only seasons he had under .212. I'm not arguing whether he should be or shouldn't be necessarily in this league, because of the inflated ratings you're right, he probably wouldn't be what he was in real life. But in real life, he wasn't a BR in hits. Facts matter and my discussion has only been about how things are done in this league, end result 7 seasons avg has him at .212 BA and that is a fact... but apparently to you it doesn't matter... ironic

www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/maddugr01-pitch.shtmlWhich 7 seasons? I'm not sure that things have really changed how things are done in this league. I understand the argument, and again, I'm fine with it. Per the chart and his actual stats he's not a BR in hits pitcher. His game was as much about ball movement and generating weak contact as it was about anything. And impeccable control.

I mean how many pitchers can put up an equivalent 930 IP to have an .200 BA against that were SP's?

Hey... I resemble that remark.
Senior picking players in pick-up basketball game when I was a freshman in college... I take the skinny guy with the big head. Haha

This is the fall back to no time limits. Invariably someone takes advantage of the extra time.

Its one thing to be in commute, in traffic, busy with family. Texas was on the boards for 2 hours tonight talking trade. Meh.
