Do defensive ratings get adjusted? An "E" for Caminiti seems pretty unfair. He had a pretty good defensive reputation. In Strat, he was rated a 2 for the first four years of his career, and then a 1 from 1991 through 1997. He wasn't rated a 3 (which is still average) until the end of his career. Or does his ratings only get a boost after eating a Snickers?

E is range / ability to put a glove on it. he ability with a glove is determined by the .xxx fielding % gawd now I wanna look for my strat baseball set. think I had 83 cards

Caminiti somehow crawled out of a bathroom thanks to the aforementioned snickers to hit 2 homers off what was a beleaguered mets pitching staff that year. Good times.

And in the advanced version of Strat, the number is each player's defensive range, and in lieu of fielding percentage, strat has an E-rating that displays how many errors the player would make over a full season. If the 1-5 range rating in Strat had the same distribution as A-E in OOTPB, then Caminiti would be B/A. Lol @ the snickers reference. I remember that story. A mets Padres game in Mexico in 96. Caminiti somehow crawled out of a bathroom thanks to the aforementioned snickers to hit 2 homers off what was a beleaguered mets pitching staff that year. Good times. Glad someone got that

He had 3 seasons out of 23 where he would have had a BR hits rating. I love him, he's one of my favorites ever, but very few pitchers have had the sub .213 batting average against for their lifetime stats. Typically dominating closer types or starters with filthy stuff and bad control. Randy Johnson was close at .221, Maddux was .250. Mo Rivera was .211. Mitch Williams was close at .218. Interesting.

top 7 seasons he avg 7.26 hits per 9 which is a .212 BA against. for the 5 seasons I have to pay reservation fee on his BAA was .210 which as you say is in the bril range. With a 'good' rating there is no way in heck he would ever be able to get close to the stats here as he did irl.
giving him a good just penalizes him for having a long career, and not using roids.
