Which is where the problem starts to being with. When a guy with all good ratings is barely a #5 SP, something needs to be done. Yeah I know, I’m just saying that once you adjust to the jacked-up ratings you start valuing 5 star prospects like 4 star, 4 star as three star, etc There will be an adjustment period, no doubt. It will just affect all of us in different ways.

I think the overall GM quality isnt better here. I do think we have a handful of GMs that would rather be 500 every year than make trades.
We're just not all on the same scale. We all have different amounts of experience, time and interest to put into this.
Clearly a number of GMs here are in other leagues, and have been playing this game for years. I'm in the camp that has no experience outside of this league or the game before I joined. I'll come across a thread on how teams have converted ace relievers into stud starters, or that you can offer extensions to players before they are set to hit free agency and it's complete news to me. It's not cheating; I want to make that clear, but those GMs have an inherent advantage if you know about those ins and outs.
I treat this league very casually. I was very clear of that when I joined. It's probably my 7th or 8th hobby in a life where I really only have time for 4. Many of us work long hours or have jobs where we're not at a PC all day. I'm happy as heck doing nothing but drafting and exporting. So I don't think it's a measure of quality, but the realism that 26 people playing the same game are all going to be operating under different circumstances. (And if it was a quality issue, 30 MLB GMs do this full time and there are still organizations that are consistently bad!)

Or limit it because there are fewer players to get? Do you mean only edit the best 3-5 players and leave the rest of the draft alone or edit all players so there are only 3-5 clearly defined superstars? I ask this because if we leave the rest of the draft alone, we're going to have 100 average players, many of them with 6's, 7's and higher actual ratings. I think what gets lost in what I do in the off-season is that I depress 80% of the players so they are "not ready". if I didn't do that, you'd have a 19-year old 5th rounder in the bullpen because they already have a 6 AR rating. If the intent is to edit all players so there are only 3-5 clearly defined superstars, then we need to agree on the ratings chart. I agree the chart I had been using was inflated, but think the OOTP5 chart is deflated.I think the intention is more of the bottom point. I agree that not allowing MR to become SP is going to help the pitching issue.

love the, this league has been going for 47 years, with 37 to go, but let's change how things have been, and change things based on an assumption, but no actual knowledge. I'm active in this league only, because it has something to do besides just draft and export 2x a season.
This is an upgrade league, and yeah it takes a different approach than most others, but that is part of the challenge. I've shared with Chris, some things I KNOW will make a difference, but to make a change to the league DNA, well I want no part of.
My 2 cents.

I start looking at what to do with them 6 seasons in advance. So I def want the xmas to stay.

I really think increasing PD reversal cost and eliminating reliever to starter moves will fix alot if this.

Given we just increased pd reversal costs, eliminated RP ability to become SP,etc I'd say only few small adjustments now. Let's see how some of these changes play out before changing again.
In terms of small changes. Limit the holiday rewards so they can't be used for hits.

The reliever to starter rule helps this a ton. Maybe make the Christmas present not have brill hits options? Or make it 100 points?

I never take the 200. The brill increase is too valuable. Maybe dont give gms the option? You have to take the brill increase?

100 points seems fair, and yes, anyone that took the points did not realize what they were passing up.

I'd also say if we are gonna make things more expensive, teams should be able to bank up to 200 or 250 points before being forced to spend them. that way you could use them when ready versus randomly spending them on a rebuild

Rock isn't dead, it's just that the only good genre left is punk I know... but it isn't like it once was. Volbeat is one of the few bright spots since 2005 If you haven't already, check out Parlor Mob. Seen them live twice in tiny places. If guys like them had gotten chances rock would be much better off. The entire album And You Were A Crow is amazing I have it on vinyl
