I'm going to give Mark 2 more hours because MIL's list (or draft instructions) is the one that got deleted when get got rid of the Draft username. If in two hours he hasn't picked, I'll have to auto at that point.

my bad I worked like a 15 hour shift yesterday and slept through my alarm. the instructions he gave to myself and jeremy only stated to draft best available under the age of 23...he may gripe about rollie sheldon....

Because Chris and I accidentally deleted Darryl's message about what type of player he preferred to draft, and b/c his brother Mark reminded us in the Draft Discussion board that he wanted a player under 23 years old, I am going to change his pick to the next auto draft choice (RF Jim Northrup) without messing with the Cincy and Milwaukee picks that were made before this. That means the original auto for Milwaukee (SP Rollie Sheldon), will now become the auto for Washington. To summarize: MIL selects RF Jim Northrup, via requested auto. CIN selects SS Jim Fregosi, via auto. STL selects MR Gary Dotter. WAS selects SP Rollie Sheldon, via auto. Boston is up. Thumbs up to sanity in the land of simulation baseball decision making. |

Being a dolt, but what function do the staggered time slots serve? Less wait if you know someone will get auto picked. Instead of every 4 hours it's every 2, assuming a few guys are active and pick. |

True. But say I have a pick slot from 12 to 2 and you have one from 1 to 3. What can you do between 1 and 2, if you're waiting on me?

Shorter wait than if your time was 12-2 and mine was 2-4. Only have to wait one hour instead of 2.

I'm going to give break until 1:30 b/c he was just on, but this is a perfect example of why you send a list. Just b/c I was a little late in autoing the pick before his, doesn't extend his time any. A simple two man list, and I could have made his pick and moved on.
I sent him a PM also.

I can't explain it 100%. But that is who the computer selected the 1st time, and I redownloaded the file, did it again, and the computer still chose him. So it's going to stand. I'll be happy to send somebody a screen shot or video of the pick. Price you pay for not sending a list. |

I've noticed auto picks love catchers if you do not have 2 at every level.

I've noticed auto picks love catchers if you do not have 2 at every level. I was going to say, that was my suspected reasoning as well. This is also an example of why I don't like the draft/auto list thing that Chris did this year. The order changes, at least a little bit, based on who is selected earlier in the draft, or trades that might occur during the draft. JMO, and it's something we can discuss this offseason. The other option is to do the draft/auto list, and ONLY pull auto's off of it. But if we are going to do that, we need to start with a cleaner list then we did this year, and keep it up to date (ie, mark thru players once they are chosen). |

Hmm. Yea that sucks.
I did post an auto-list, so the fact that the order is different seems to show that the AI will account for team needs to some degree.
I am fine with either switching Valle to the next available player on the auto-list I posted or keeping it. I agree that it is a price to pay for no list though.
